Lehner savior of Dubas

Created by: GiggywithGibby
Team: 2022-23 Toronto Maple Leafs
Initial Creation Date: Aug. 11, 2022
Published: Aug. 11, 2022
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Not a serious proposal, but it would be epicly funny if it happened.

Toronto passes the savings that Ottowa gave them for Murray onto Vegas, then gets their old flame in Reimer back. Plus having enough cap space to sign Sandin and carry 7 D.

Frankly, I think it would be an improvement in net for Toronto, Reimer had a good season last year.

LOL You guys made your bed and now you have to sleep in it. Murray is finishing his contract in TOR.

He's been pretty consistent his whole career. Don't know why no one believes that...his numbers are the definition of consistent.

He had a better save percentage, better GAA, and twice as many starts as Murray, all while on a worse team, and he costs half as much.

Love this even tho it’s unlikely I would love to ditch Murray and run Optimus Reim-Samsonov with Hildeby in the system. But no we have a Dubass gm

Reimer is pretty underrated. I do STRONGLY disagree with Jarnkrok on the 4th line he's a handy mid 6 guy.
    Also, scratching Gio? Really?

Many of my fellow Toronto fans have this unnatural hatred of him. It's bizarre. We had a goalie graveyard for like 7 years. He comes in and give us great tending for the first time in a while. We go to the playoffs. Boston beats on us pretty hard. But he steals games 5 and 6. He has a rough game 7 and in many leafs fans eyes he's a terrible goalie for his entire career for that single game. It's weird.

He's like the epitome of a 1b goalie

Don't know the team well enough to put the roster together to greatest effect, I just know the fans were bewildered by the Murray deal, and the goalie market is very sparse right now. It was basically Reimer, Stolarz, or Jones.

Vegas would better just to trade with San Jose and get Reimer. If anything I like the thought "gifting" Murray to Vegas, the Leafs play 750,000 Kallgren in net, then the Leafs have enough cap to fill out at least 22 man roster.

Yeah, but that means the sharks and knights have to do a deal. Hard enough to do that within a division, let alone when there is that level of hatred between the two organizations, at least at the fan level. I think the Vegas front office would rather kick a hornets nest than go hat in hand to the sharks who will try and lynch them for Reimer.

He battles like no other goalie I have seen. As a fan you always feel confident when he is the starter. I know the team feels the same way, he is loved in SJ

I love the guy. I still kindly remember him as Optimus Reim. I have the logo somewhere of it. Lol
