Initial Creation Date: Aug. 11, 2022
Published: Aug. 11, 2022
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Varly is probably not worth this but nevertheless he is the only starting caliber goalie that might possibly be on the market. I would only move varly for a very lightly protected or unprotected 2023 1st. VGK would have to decide if they wanna do it but regardless i wouldnt move him for less rn and if they arent interested id be happy to keep him.

  1. Varlamov, Semyon
Additional Details:
Like i said in the desc. Idc if VGK does this or not but i wouldnt move him for less.

Bc of the uncertainty with this trade i made the cap work for NYI regardless of who the backup is. If it does become brossoit dobson could get 8×7 romanov 3×2.5 and another depth F could be added.

Do you honestly think the guy who traded Devon Toews for two second round picks is in charge of the draft? Hell the dude overpaid to get romanov too smh. Only reason I’m not gonna rip him a new one for that is because of Romanov’s friendship with Sorokin. Also maybe Romanov figures it out next to Dobson. Idk.

Wth? Romanov wasnt an overpay. It wasnt a steal but 22yo top 4 dmen dont come around often and when they do you pounce. Also i love how when lou makes a good move its luck but when he makes a bad move its bc hes terrible. It really shows your hypocrisy.

Clearly I’m not the only one who disagrees with you. It makes no sense to bring in a new coach for Barzal than make him play a different position… smh.

Whats this notion that they brought in a new coach for barzal??? Lambert practically built the system that trotz used. I also said if youve been reading that I want barzy at C but i think the org asks him to move to W.

Barzals skillset is best suited for center and he’s spoken about taking pride in being a center who can play with anyone and in all 3 zones. If they ask him to move to wing to accommodate Kadri he will likely Tkachuk his way out of here next offseason

Again im not saying i think they should move him to W. Im saying if they sign kadri i think they will move him to W.
Also maybe hes on board with the switch if you read my earlier comment i go into this in more depth.

I mean he traded Toews for two seconds…. And then traded the 13th pick for Romanov two years later….

Based on all 3 games he coached last year I think Lambert seems far less rigid than Trotz lol

I dont think he overpayed on pageau. Look at what lehkonen went for. Lehky is a W who didnt have 25 goals at the TDL. Unfortunately thats the going rate for 2 way beasts like JGP. He made 2 bad trades with NYI. 1 was the toews trade which we've gone over 100 times already agreed horrible trade. The 2nd was out of necessity and was the andy greene trade where pelech was expected to be out all season. I dont hate the palmieri deal, while i think he couldve been had for less it wasnt a bad deal imo it just wasnt a good one. He moved ladd without moving a 1st which was a great job, he got a 2nd for leddy (another great job).
As for snows d core lou certainly put his mark on an amazing d core. The P&P extensions are amazing. Dobson is a stud and romanov is gonna be very good. Garth left us with ladd boychuk and leddy if you dont recall and lou got us out of that for 1 2nd rounder (and 250k dead cap with panik).
Lou has made 3 1st round picks, 11, 12, and 23 and comes away with dobson wahly and holmstrom, thats a win. He had 4 2nds and pulled out raty and bolduc with wilde and iskhakov. Considering the rate of 2nd rounders that become nhlers (200 games with a positive career war) is 17% raty alone would cover that though i think bolduc has a decent chance of becoming an nhler.
(Not including 2022 picks bc they havent played since the draft so its hard to evaluate though at this point it looks good with odelius and george).
He also got sorokin to come over from russia which is something garth didnt do.
He hasnt been the best but hes been pretty good and hes won 2 jim gregory awards with nyi so im pretty sure im not the only one that thinks that.

I mean Guerrin didn’t draft Kaprizov but he “brought him over.” Not really sure how much credit Lou deserves for signing the guys he ****ing inherited.

How many times do you want me to say it nobody is denying the toews trade was horrible. But that doesmt mean every other move was. You keep talking about it like its an obsession. The romanov trade has nothing to do with the toews trade. And trying to say the romanov trade was bad bc he got more than toews is crazy.

Oh right 3 games where trotz was still telling him what to do. Seems like youre seeing what you want to see and believing what you want to be true.

All i said is lou got him to NA when snow couldnt do it. Give him as little or as much credit as you think he deserves. Sorokin couldve been the best goalie of all time, but if he wouldve been with CSKA it wouldntve meant a damn thing.

I don’t think he was blindly following trotz. He’s been in line for a head coaching job for a long time anyway.

I mean Romanov got a higher pick than Fiala… doesn’t seem like that was necessary

Are you for real rn????? Romanov got a better pick most probably than tkachuk as well. Are you going to try to spin it so that romanov went for more than tkachuk or only fiala? When you resort to blatantly misrepresenting things its obvious your grasping at straws. Fiala got a very good prospect as well whole romanov sent back pick 98.

I mean Tkachuk also fetched an all star, a top pair d man and a good prospect. I’m really not misrepresenting anything cause I don’t have to. Romanov hasn’t done anything to prove he is worth the 13th pick. But he’s tight with Sorokin so I can’t really complain that much. I like the player but I don’t love the trade 🤷‍♂️

Yeah and fiala got a top prospect while romanov didnt even get 13 straight up as they had to send 98 back. Youre saying if the kings had sent 15 and we sent 16 you wouldnt have a problem with it, thats crazy.
Also he certainly is worth 13, ffs hes a 22yo top 4 dman. How is he not worth 13?
