It shouldn’t cost more to dump Bailey than we receive in a Varly trade. Ur undervaluing Varly and ur also ignoring the fact Vegas is desperate for a starting tendy. Meanwhile ur overestimating the cost to dump bailey.

I think you’re underestimating the leagues cost to dump rn not to mention you’re also underrating Sapovaliv I think we could maybe get a 2nd in the deal but Sapo is a very solid prospect good be a solid middle 6

Sapo was drafted about a week ago lol. Personally I don’t think he’s worth enough to consider this deal. I would look at two trades for Varly. The Kuemper deal and the Fleury deal.

As for Bailey I get what ur saying 110%. But like Kevin Kurz said in his last mailbag, if Josh Bailey was getting moved I think it would’ve happened by now.

Even if ur right about the cost to dump I think ur 100% wrong about the Varly deal. It’s just not enough. They save a minimal amount of money and don’t get much value out of it.

I guess the risk is that if you don’t trade Varly now you may not get any value for him. But u also have to factor in what a huge difference he can make in the regular season. Personally I’d rather have Varly as my backup and then the isles will hopefully win all their games against the bottom third of the league lol.

You like to bring up the Kuemper deal like the TDL and end of offseason are the same thing. Also yes lets look at the Fleury and Patches deals. Vegas gained noting for 7M in cap space. So NYI gaining cap space will cost them Varly's full value

Kuemper was dealt after Colorado all of a sudden lost Grubauer. Minnesota dealt for Fleury at the deadline and I feel like that deal is a good example of what they can get if they wait to the deadline.

The idea Varly has to be traded to clear cap space for no tangible asset is beyond ridiculous.

Vegas shouldn’t have made either deal. And I think goalies and defenseman have retained their value throughout this off season. Just cause Vegas did something incredibly stupid doesn’t mean the isles will. Vegas is a disloyal organization that is finally paying the price for the **** they pull on a regular basis Smh.

Bailey is going to cost a first to dump. Highly doubt Varly gets that as a return

I still seriously doubt that’s the case. Especially considering the isles could move Varly and then they wouldn’t have to move bailey to clear salary anyway. They could just swap him for a defenseman of similar value. Maybe Brendan Dillon.

If the isles had no leverage I might understand ur point. But once again Robin Lehner comes in clutch for the isles.

Can’t see Bailey costing a first at all, he’s getting paid lower than his cap hit, playoff performer and a solid middle 6 forward still and can be retained then shipped out for a solid pick

Nyquist was going to cost a first to dump and he’s coming off a much better year than Bailey and has one year left. Bailey is 32 so all the teams they would dump him to won’t really be competitive before his contract is up. Next year is a huge UFA class. Teams don’t want to lock up cap on older overpaid players.
