Yes it is. The only way I could think they get this is by price gauging. They only have Logan Thompson healthy right now that is nhl caliber.

The trouble for the Habs is Allen is traded, and Price has time on LTIR, the Habs really don't have any NHL goalies.

Looks like the Habs don't have to try to hard just to finish last in the East anyway. But I really don't like the tank theory. What a way to discourage your players and fans. And really what is the benefit? Having a 18% chance of having the # 1 pick.

Disagree. Considering how Mtl has him as the only NHL caliber goalie ready to play, I don't think it's worth moving him for only 2d rounder. (Approx 50 ovrall)

The odds of them being last with Allen in the Atlantic is high. Why not still finish last with the 50th pick approximately? and struggle in net with Samuel in net and cayden as the backup for a top 5 pick in a top end draft?

Because it can ruin the development of Primeau, having him hung out to dry.
It can foster losing practices to tank, and anger a fan base.
Still have to play (and coach and manage) to win.
Or worse, it could force Price into playing too many games and ultimately end his career.

Allen is UFA next summer and is 32. He is the only viable option on the goalie market right now. MTL needs to shed cap space also. If they get the green light from Price, I can see them doing that since they just signed Montembault. Its not about being competitive this season for the Habs, its about watching our young prospect get better and play exciting games. This team js heading for a top 5 pick in the 2023 draft anyways and they desperately need that to happen for the rebuild to be over. Getting one of Bedard, Fantilli, Dvorsky, Michkov, Carlsson, Yager or Benson would be a game changer. Players wont tank but management can make the right moves to tank.
