Oh and I don't think Carey Price will be healthy in 2023-2024 and MTL rather resign Allen if he still played well instead to go after a goalie in free agency

Have I seen them? No...I wouldn't even be able to guess where they're all it this summer. I'm pretty sure they're likely all spread out taking some well deserved family time, but I could be wrong?

But in all seriousness, good goaltending and that forward core should absolutely mitigate any potential disasters. If losing Weegar and 20 games of Ben Chiarot is the difference between a 122 point season and they fall back to a wildcard spot, I'd be pretty shocked.

If marchment and weegar cost you 30 points...lol

Exactly. The Panthers are running out a team with arguably one of the deepest forward groups in the NHL. Is it ideal that they lost Weegar? Not really. But if that's the worst thing that happens, they'll be fine.

Playoff time? Potentially a different story.

20-30 points for sure

Wanna bet $10? that the Sabres finish 25 points (middle of 20 and 30) points ahead of the Habs?

Winnipeg would have noincentive to trade Dubois for crap. They'll move him to a team that offers quality.

Montreal has no leverage at all in this deal, so offers of garbage will go nowhere.

Winnipeg is the team that has no leverage...in any deal. He's a UFA in two years and openly doesn't want to play in Winnipeg. He just signed a 1 year deal and his agent went public with his desire to be in Montreal, where he lives in the off season. No one is giving up quality assets for a cry baby they can sign for free in two seasons. You have no leverage here.

Edit: it's also Winnipeg. It's a wonder it only took him a year to demand to get out of that ****hole

Yeah it was talked about in a very interesting TheAthletic podcast with both MTL and WPG beat writers. They were confident that teams are not gonna want to give up prime assets for a player they can't extend through his prime. It'd be a regular deadline deal for regular deadline prices, the typical 1st + prospect. Realistically I don't see a scenario where he gets more than that, if he does I'll be very shocked.

Too bad the situation you're describing is your fantasy and not reality. He's never said he doesn't want to play in Winnipeg and has never said he will only play in Montreal. So, you're fantasy of Montreal having any leverage is just that, fantasy.

Maybe take the time to educate yourself on the actual situation, so that your opinions don't sound so ignorant and uninformed.

The copium is hilarious at this point. Dubois has 2 years until hes a FA. He is gonna be doing 1 year deals until he is. But his high cap hit an qualifying offer will make it hard for teams to trade for him as a rental assuming the Jets arent completely blowing up the team and wont retain 50%.

Don't answer to those guys (BatVader and Wingjammer), they think they can get a former 1st RD pick in the last two years with a 1st on top of a 2nd and another good prospect

Yeah, I think my thoughts on how it'll play out are:
-Toronto/Tampa
-Toronto/Tampa (Both are still very good and I'm don't think Murray/Samsonov are bad enough to sink the Leafs offence)
-Florida
-Boston (yeah, lots of injuries to start, but they're like the Pens-Every time I write them off they just continue to be good enough)
-Ottawa (Much improved, but I don't think their D is strong enough yet, and I really don't trust Forsberg/Talbot to keep it together for long stretches)
-Detroit (Improved, but still a year away...I'm not buying on Husso duplicating his numbers behind that D-core either)
-MTL (If they're healthy...if not, whooooops).
-Buffalo (Sure they've improved, but that goaltending tandem is terrifying)

Sabres fans won't be happy with me, and I apologize for that, especially considering I think that they're the most likely to make a huge jump in 23/24.

I agree that the Sabres are kinda overhyped coming into next season because of a nice quarter season. They're either last or second last, not 30 points in front of the Habs like Sabres fans are claiming.

Lenny and Sevenleg, yes being healthy will be a factor, but the main factor is Martin St-Louis on a full year. Remember he didnt had time to make a system, he just said play man for man and have fun out there. Cole Caufield had 22 goals and 35 points in 37 games under St-Louis. Dvorak put up like 17 points in 22 games with a 58% faceoff percentage under MSL. Nick Suzuki too was almost a PPG in a sample of 37ish games. The PP can't be worse than it was, Hoffman probably have a bounce back season after his worse season in the last 9 years. I don't think MTL will be a bottom 5 team, ANA SJ CHI ARI PHI are worse so MTL could be with BUF NJD outside of the bottom 5

Mans just in straight denial that no one except Blake Wheeler wants to be in Winnipeg.

Just a reminder that that "your" is possessive. "you're" means "you are".
