Description
Hear me out...

I might be one of the only ones to admit that, but I like Nylander. Yes, he is lazy at times, and doesn't seem to go for the body checks, but I like his offensive style of play and how he can be explosive on the puck. The Toronto media tends to throw him under the bus and a change of scenery could be helpful for him. A move for him could be good for his career and far away from the Toronto media too. Also, the Leafs have too many players of the same style in the lineup right now (offensive fire power, lack on the defensive side). Sacrificing Nylander for a top pairing defenseman will help the team on the long term.

I saw that the Leafs would need to add two higher end prospects and a draft pick to add Chychrun on the team. Putting a guy like Sandin, which looks like he won't sign anytime soon, to the trade might help to push the balance. I added a 1st round pick in 2024 and Nick Abruzzese in the deal that can be helpful right away for the Coyotes.

The team needs to do anything in their power to get far in the playoffs so Matthews signs a long term deal. By doing this trade, I think it would be a perfect move to start up that climb.

Ducks are not going to pay for Holl. No cap dump team is going to pay for Holl. Only chance you get paid for Holl is from a competitor who can use him.

Ducks arent going to pay for someone that would be a 7th Dman best case scenario

If you need to shed 2M in cap we'll be happy to send you Derek Grant for Kerfoot

Horrible trade for Leafs, you can have Nylander but Chychrun is not worth all that or they would have traded him by now

I'm curious that you think the Leafs have too many all-offense, no-defense players on the team. Aside from Nylander, who is another one? The idea that Leafs forwards are all defensively weak is a myth.

The lineup, as you've constructed, is pretty terrible up front. NAK as a 2nd liner and Simmonds as a 3rd liner are playing way over their heads. Chychrun would be a nice player to have, but it's not worth detracting this much from the rest of the lineup just to further strengthen our already pretty good defense.

People still follow and believe anything that guy says? tears of joy

I thought it was common knowledge anything he said is baseless speculation or recycling tweets from people with actual sources

I don’t think it matters anymore who posts it, it will always find its way onto the Cap. How many of these been posted in the last week

I don't see the value in Chychrun with that trade. Three year of Chychrun, for two years of Nylander and four years of a control over Sandin and first is an overpay.
