You'd be lucky if you get one 4th for dipietro asking for 2 is ridiculous

I dunno man
Dipietro has had a rough go
We criticize Primeau for way less here
If Montembault didnt re-sign, if Allen or Price wasnt healthy
Then sure we'd be all over Dipietro for sure as outside Primeau we got nothing at the Pro level better.

If Price goes down or Allen gets traded maybe we'll circle back
But reports are Price is ready for the season according to his friend and former Goalie Coach for MTL Stephane Waite.
Allen trade rumors as always are more smoke then fire so i doubt he gets moved unless VGK has a good offer

1 year of myers where he is owed a lot less than 6 million in real money is worth a 3rd to a team that can retain and flip him at the deadline for more. only reason i put buffalo is because he played there

could be anywhere just put MTL because they had rumored interest at the draft. and if hamonic can get a 3rd and chairiot can get a first, i dont think two late rounders is ridiculous for a young goalie with potential

Simple no more Waiver Exemption
This is 100% standard practice with all RFA's that havent reached NHL level yet
They're Waiver bait especially if like Dipietro you know there's 0% chance of him starting in the NHL even if 2/3 NHL goalies are injured he's still not called in our system.

There's reasons why if we can get him for nothing like we stole Monty from FLA last year on Waivers that we'd see value.
Last year this time getting any pick for Monty was not happening on any level for any reason and FLA tried hard.
Now we're in a position where he's played some really quality games with no team infront of him including back to back 50 save nights
We might be able to get a 3rd or a 4th now at the TDL if he plays well

So how could anyone justify that for Dipietro when Waivers is so much cheaper(as VAN will waive him 10/10 IMO)

if you pick him up he needs to be in the NHL, i dont think any team is going to pick him up and play him all year. and if a team picks him up and puts him back on waivers then canucks get first dibs and he gets to play in the minors the rest of the year

I know how waivers work but you're assuming in one breathe he has value but the fact is history says otherwise for non NHL prospects at the tend of ELC's
What you're arguing is that no team will play him he's not NHL worthy as your selling point
That just leaves me Dumbfounded given you're originally arguing Dipetro has value

We got Primeau with a ECF finish last year who's in Laval and a good back up there too and we just signed Vrbetic.
Dipietro as is might make our ECHL team if they didnt resign Mcniven but even then its close.

I mean imagine if MTL tried this with Fucale who was just as big of a let down once he turned pro
We woulda been laughed at for ignoring the Cardinal Rule about Waiver Exemption Status and its importance.
