Durzi = Sandin
Moore > Kerfoot
$1.875M > $3.5M (in terms of trade value)

Not sure why LA has to give up the better pick in this trade.

So the LA trade you’re getting
A top 6 winger
A top 4 D
A second round pick

And you’re giving up
A guy that can be offersheeted for a second,
A cap dump
A third.

Why would LA do that?

Durzi has already started proving himself a top-4 defender; Sandin looks like he could be that, but the jury is still out. We are 95% likely to be able to re-sign local boy Trevor Moore after this season; no such thing is likely for us if we have Kerfoot instead. We wouldn't make this trade straight up, as we are getting lesser value in both instances.

I’m beginning to feel your guys pain of the constant Muzzin to LA trades with these idiotic Durzi to Toronto deals.

To be clear though, the value definitely favours the leafs here. I just don’t want to see another Durzi to Toronto deal.

And to be clear from MY PoV, you guys need Holl, who's fine for what he does at his price, and you guys REALLY need to keep Sandin, because I think that there's almost no chance that Muzzin or Giordano plays more than 62 games this season. Durzi for Holl is an upgrade offensively, but it's a luxury that you may not need. Losing Sandin, however, is suicidal (without a good-quality replacement).

I'm still quite tentative about Sandin. I have not seen much to like. However I greatly hope he develops to what a lot of Leaf fans on here believe he already is.

If we could acquire Jeannot, I would be willing to give up a package like that. However at this point I see next to no reason for Nashville to be getting rid of him.

La gives up a cap dump and a Dmen that can be offersheeted for a 2nd for two of the best players on the nhl... look we can both say dumb things.

But that's why it makes it such Leafs trade.

What did I say that was wrong?
They are using Durzi in the top 4 and Moore in the top 6. Kerfoot is likely nothing more then a cap dump. See what Columbus got for Bjorkstrad. Leafs aren’t getting more then that. And it’s a downgrade in a pick. What did I say that was wrong?

Sandin, I agree on in 2 years, now he’s probably not even going to be in the lineup so I can see both sides of that debate.

Holl is a good 3rd pairing guy.
