I don't see any of the free agents signing those seals. Zach and Sonny both take 800k pay cuts, not sure about Gagner but assuming same boat.

Boston can’t add cap.

I assume it could to any team as there as no return.

Yeeeah no. Sonny Milano had his best season yet and he's gonna go down by 50% in salary? Nah fam.
Idk much about ZAR though. Doesn't seem like a spectacular player in any facet of the game but he seems to be a 1-2 mil kind of guy. So nah.
Gagner sure, he's made 850k for the past 2 seasons so why not.

Don’t like the trade (never trade intra division) but which team is going to pay Milano or ZAR $1.5-2M ? Not saying they’ll sign for this but $2M does not seem likely for either at this point. Heinen is better than both and signed for $1.1M

Does anyone have a realistic outlook on Kerfoot? He’s not a dump and we won’t get a 2nd for him. No one can be realistic here

Best comment on this I've seen is @csick who noted most teams don't have space for that cap - making it harder to get a second. But a consistent 50 pt, 20 goal, penalty killer with speed not worth a second?! Teams trading for him would likely be in the top 10 making it an advanced 3rd. At the TDL he'd be worth a 1st+.

Keefe likes having him because he can move up and down the lineup, do a lot of things. You have to have that kind of versatility to be a winner.

I get why he might be in play, but trading Holl seems more likely IMO

Holl is harder to replace. We don’t have any other options on the right side

I don't think that has stopped Dubas before...

Just an FYI, the consistent 20 goal/50 point player has had exactly 0 (zero) 20 goal seasons and 1 (one) 50 point season. Kerfoot has a 10 team NT clause so likely not going to any rebuilding teams, who are the ones with cap space. I see one logical match, back to Colorado. They still need a forward to round out their roster, barely have the cap room to take him, and it is just for one year while they try to repeat. In return, Colorado sends back Kurtis McDermid, big tough defenseman who won't get many points but can play the right side and give Toronto something they have very little of. Toronto gets the cap relief they need, plus some meanness on the back end lost when Lybushkin left, and Colorado gets a one year replacement for Kadri (although not as skilled) that they can then let walk next year when they start dealing with all their UFAs, and without giving up any additional draft picks, which they are already low on.
