De Haan is not a solution at all. If it was 3 years ago sure he'd be a great fit. Ottawa needs someone who can be impactful in those top 4 minutes, at this stage in his career De Haan would be trading water at best. He's also unlikely to be able to give you a full season of play given his injury troubles, so betting on him to be a key defender for you is a bad idea off rip

Might you be interested in Mike Reilly? He plays both sides

I actually think Reilly was pretty underrated in Ottawa. Extremely efficient transition Dman, and wasn't the defensive liability he was painted as early on in his time here. That said I don't think he's what Ottawa needs at all

I think adding another Dman is a mistake. Sens are going to make great strides this year and have 2 RHD who could make the leap in Thomson and JBD. If De Haan was only being signed as a backup option if both aren't ready I could understand that but not sure the message to young prospects should be "you aren't part of our future"
