Assuming it's players-only and not with systems: BOS, TOR, TBL, FLA, OTT, DET/BUF, MTL

Sens, Sabres, Red Wings will depend on how their younger players do so it could change.

Boy, not only do you not have the Habs last, but 4th to last? You're either trolling, a Habs fan who actually haven't watched his team play last year, or on some heavy **** bro squinty smile

The real question to ask, are any of DET, BUF, OTT bluelines in better shape than the Florida blueline. Other than that top pair, I am not sure Panthers D looks to be a playoff-caliber unit.

Staal, Del Zotto afterall were DET, OTT castaways. Carlsson was waiver fodder.

Detroit had the worst defense in the league last season and to help fix that they added Chiarot.

How is Buffalo or Ottawa better than Toronto tears of joy . Maybe Sabres in a few years but Ottawa is a house on fire. First pair is decent and maybe sanderson will be a player one day but otherwise, garbage

I had Toronto above Ottawa. I agree Ottawa defense is awful. As for the Sabres I’m expecting another jump. They have 2 first overall picks, hopefully a full healthy season of Samuelson. Lyubushkin is a nice add for their 3rd pair, it should be good.

The defenses get really bad, really quickly. Montreal has a couple young guys who's reasonable to expect big steps from, like Buffalo does too. Looking at my list again, you could shuffle 4-6 in any way you want, they are all in the same area.

You should have your CF rights revoked - in no world under any circumstances is Ottawa d better than the leafs tears of joy or even Detroit. They are a garbage can on fire. What a joke!

The only actually competent dcores in the Atlantic are Tampa, Boston, and Buffalo in my opinion. The rest I was basing on who sucks the least. For the Leafs, they are about as porous as everyone I put below them outside of Florida. If you can’t handle other people’s opinions, especially ones that criticize your team, what are you doing on here?

Of course everyone has an opinion, but you should also expect to be called out on particularly dumb opinions. Leafs were top 10 in most team defensive metrics - xGA, HDCA, CA; their goaltending was 27th which led to high ga Ave. so get your facts straight. Plus we did finish 4th overall with 115 points, all while playing with a porous defense squinty smile .
And Ottawa’s d is just flat out abysmal.
I know there is a lot of leaf jealousy out there (I get it - a lot of dumb posts by leaf fans and there’s a lot of us so some of that is inevitable I guess) but your take is just off the chart ridiculous

They need to get rid of Zaitsev and get another top 4D but I wouldn’t say abysmal. Chabot, Zub, Sanderson in the top 4 and Brannstrom/Holden on the bottom pair is good
