Sabres give up the most valuable asset in Tuch and then also include a 1st, really? I like Backlund a lot, but Tuch's contract and age make him a more valuable asset, not to mention being a local guy you'd have to vastly overpay to get him out of Buffalo, this isn't that.

None of that really does anything for the Caps so they easily pass. Tanev is a down grade, Solovyov will probably never play in the NHL, a late 2nd is meh and 2 6ths have basically no value. You'll need to give up a 1st+top prospect+much more, especially if you want them to eat $4M for the next 4 years.

That trade is just so nonsensical for the caps. We’re getting nothing of value there.

Replace Pasta/Hall/Lysell with Foligno/Reilly/Forbort/Nosek and no retention you have a deal.
