Larkin

Created by: CEO
Team: 2022-23 Toronto Maple Leafs
Initial Creation Date: Aug. 8, 2022
Published: Aug. 14, 2022
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Yzerman sees risk in keeping Larkin and him potentially walking, so he trades him before deadline.

Im thinking Mete earns an NHL job, so Toronto can afford to make this trade. They downgrade their 1st to a 2nd, send Niemela who's a defensive stud prospect, Voit, Brodie, Sandin, and Minten for Larkin, who is willing to re-sign.

laugh Larkin isn't worth half of this, Considering that half of the package is pure garbage i agree. And the rest Detroit doesn't need. Brodie, Niemela, Sandin isn't better than what we've in our pipeline. The rest is pure trash.

Then we are all in agreement; the trade makes no sense for either team . You think leaf’s offer is garbage and I wouldn’t give up half of this to get Larkin, who would he the 5th best forward on the Leafs, not even on PP1. Again massive overpay imo.

Brodie being in the trade doesn't make sense for either team. Detroit isn't a playoff team yet maybe in 2023-24. Just being in the playoffs doesn't make you a contender so around 2 to 4 more seasons for the team to solidify and fine tune the roster. So a 32yr old dman doesn't make a lot of sense. With Toronto already being a contender it makes little sense to trade him. Plus there is no way he waives for Detroit. I also think in the next couple of seasons Liljegren will emerge as Toronto's best offensive dman.

Yup, I 100% agree.

Take Brodie and Minten out and you've got your self a deal!

Take Brodie and Niemela and either Minten or 1st out and maybe… but again deal makes sense for neither team. Larkin is just not that good and doesn’t move the needle for a team with top 5 offense already

Larkin extended would cost far more than that garbage that's offered.

I assumed he wants to extend with the leafs
