Vegas trade doesn't make sense for Vegas. They're giving up two bargain contracts which is everything for them, one of which is currently their starting goaltender because Lehner is out.

The re tooling needed to fix the Stars road performance happened with the coaching change earlier this summer.
Bowness played a defense first, counter attack with dump and chase style of hockey. It relied heavily on matching up lines. Hard to make that work on the road when you have first change.
Deboner wont rely on line matching. Players will create their own offense rather than wait to counter attack for a chance at creating offense.
