Best i can do is Faksa and a third.

But we come back at the deadline, send over Dobby and work a deal for a 50% off Klinger. Ducks will pay less of Dobby’s salary at deadline. Cost to move him is less.

Dobby doesn't take a second to dump third tops, maybe Gardiner does take the 2nd

JVR is a 2023 first or the flyers can keep his 7 mil.

You mean a team is going to have to pay what the teams with cap space are asking

ARI asked PHI for a 1st to dump JVR and PHI said no, at this point they’ll be lucky if a first is enough

Carolina have a heap of space under the cap right now with Pacioretty's achillies going boom. Don't need to dump Gardiner

I’d rather buy Dobby out than give a second to move him

That said, Caniac2000, I wouldn't mind dumping his salary now as it opens up more options for while Max is out. We don't have the space to add anything and preserve $7M for Max without moving salary out. I would counter with a 3rd.

Why would you give up a third you don't need to? It makes more sense to keep him and try to raise his value until Pacioretty comes back, and then move him for positive value. People seem to forget his contract (when Jake Gardiner is being Jake Gardiner) isn't bad. It's exactly the same cap hit he had in Toronto. Get him back to his best, and move him at the all star break, just before Pacioretty is healthy

Flyers aren’t dumping JVR to do nothing with his cap space. They could get assets for him at the deadline but instead they are giving him up with assets to do nothing with the cap space. Doesn’t make sense

Fair enough. Good point. And hopefully he shows he still has that value. I think we still need help in our top 6 until Max comes back. That means we spend money now that we need back before Max returns, so at some point some salary would need to be moved. If Jake plays well, early season injury in the league may give us an opportunity to move him sooner. My only concern is the hole on the bottom left that will be harder to fill in-season. And I wouldn't suggest trying to move Jake right before Max comes back. No leverage there. This could play out a number of ways. We'll see what 'Waddy' does.
