Flyers would love to move out some salary but Ellis at 50% retention for 5 years would be horrific, they can just LTIR him if/until he can play again. Also trading Hart would leave Felix Sandstrom and his 5 NHL GP as the starter

There is zero shot we trade away Hart for that return, much less one that has us retaining 5 years salary, as the person above noted. Would possibly be one of the worst trades in Flyers history if it went down, and please don't say its Chuck Fletcher, anything can happen. Ownership would never allow it anyway. I would love to add Girard, but certainly not at this cost.

Even as a rental, if he plays anywhere close to the level he's played at over the last 2 years, Pavelski costs Colorado AT LEAST a 1st Round Pick; especially when you consider the fact that the Avs are a division opponent & it's going to be a very late 1st Round Pick.

I will not put this fantasy trade on Chuck or say he would. I made this with -98% seriousness.

I would do a 2024 1st for Pavs as a rental. Mainly so he can stop being a thorn in the Avs side. I thought Rambo Santa and a 2nd would be more valuable. I also have no faith the Stars make the playoffs(watch that bite me in the behind)

Sampo Ranta is an AHL player that so far has shown very little that proves he is going to be any more than that & that 2nd round pick is going to be a very late 2nd, not to mention it’s not even in the next draft. There’s just not nearly enough value for Dallas to entertain trading away an 80-point player & arguably their biggest trade chip that happens to be coming off the best season of his career.

If Dallas moves Pavelski to a contender at the 2023 trade deadline, it’ll be for a 2023 1st Round Pick & then some.
