Wait…you’re going to ignore Koskinen who had a 0.952 sv% in mop up duty. Or the score could have been 12-6.

Not sure I’m following your argument - even though you were badly out shot and out chanced (with the exception of game 3 when you lit the lamp twice despite major advantage in hdc neutral ) and the goalie stats series wide were very close - you lost b/c of Mike Smith? Why did your coach of the year in waiting keep playing him then ? Come on - oil were badly outclassed and swept, end of story.

What are you talking about?
Coach of the year????
Why are you asking me why the coach played a hurt Smith over crappy Koskinen? I am not the coach. If I was I would have played Skinner who is better than both of them.
Yes Smith was the problem. He was absolutely terrible. 5 goals on 21 shots is good for you???

Only 4 (or 3) teams make the playoffs bud. And you had a losing record against the entire division, including Buffalo, Detroit, Ottawa and Montreal. I fail to see your point . It’s irrefutable that the Atlantic was a tougher division than pacific, by a considerable margin. Main evidence is that best team in the pacific division Had a LOSING record vs Atlantic

Oh yes. That makes all the difference.
You are talking about regular season again. So the best team was the Flames. They had a winning record, not a losing record vs the Atlantic. 8-5-3

A second for Holl? Let’s be realistic..

You’d probably have to pay that to get rid of him

You’re a day late (and a dollar short) but… we’re talking about oilers (not flames). Your record outside of your division is worse than inside and against Atlantic is woeful. The point is - if you played in our division, you’d miss the playoffs. You don’t so you caught a break.
Smith played poorly in game 1 (no argument) but you were badly outshot and out chanced that game so unless tretiak was playing you were statistically likely to lose. Game 2 was similar but Smith did not play as poorly.
Goalies save %’s we’re pretty much identical in games 3&4 and yet you still lost. Just a weak argument to blame 4 game sweep on smith - your whole team was badly outclassed the entire series.
And if you’re counting on soupy to save you - good luck .
You may get out of pacific again b/c division is SO weak but you’ll be hammered as soon as you get out of pacific.

Just counting on Soup to be average. .910 is good enough. If SKinner and Soup can do that, we will be just fine.
Sorry I thought you said the best team in our devision with all your regular season stats you presented??? My mistake, we will be better this year with a full season of our coach.

You know when you just need your goalie to make a save when needed? Yah he didn't do that. Maybe you should watch an oiler game once in a while.
He was terrible and injured the whole series.

Don't worry so much about the Oilers, your teams playoff performance is more of a concern.

I don’t watch oilers games unless the leafs are beating them (snooze fest). We know all about goalies not making big saves - we lost an extremely close 7 game series. Soupy put up a few 0.850s and 0.688 in game 4, but I don’t hear too many Leaf fans hanging the series loss on him.
So keep on whining and dreaming tears of joy . You could stack Dryden on top of Tretiak and you’ll still get hammered as soon as you get out of your division

You should spend 5 seconds Googling provincial tax rates. You're clueless.

Is Logan on the taxes a serious tweet?

Once again, he didn't get $30M up front. Look at his contract breakdown for goodness sake - I even posted the link for you. This isn't hard!

I did, he got 15 million dollar signing bonuses in his first 2 seasons. The rest is almost entirely bonus money as well. He will be paid 54.5 of his 58.2 million dollar contract through bonus money. Draisaitl doesn't get close to that bonus money, neither does Nurse who doesn't get any bonus money until this final 4 years. Did you even look at this? You do have a long history of only seeing numbers that make your point seem valid though.

It's still a marginal difference really. Which bonus money more than makes up for. And on top of that, endorsement opportunities in Alberta are not remotely close to what you can get in TO. TO is a competitive market for players, regardless of taxes. It's the most recognizable franchise in the game. The biggest fan base in one of the largest markets in the sport. So to say all american players or FA's in general all want to leave is just a media buzz theme to get clicks. Especially from the legions of fans who desperately want to see the Leafs burn.
