Description
- Brad Lambert, Cole Perfetti and Rutger McGroarty makes Lucius a bit redundant hence I think WPG would/should accept this trade. While RD d man prospects isn't brilliant. This trade helps both teams with their weaknesses.

Everyone want's too keep their prospects and get other teams prospects. The thing is WPG have an awful RD d-man prospect pool.
Lundkvist is a very good one. NYR has a problem. They have too many, with Fox, Schneider (Trouba)

But we can each keep our prospects, and let time tell

Main issue with this deal is age and need. Lundqvist is already a few years older than Lucius, and while jets do need RD help. They most certainly do not need another small puck moving RHD as they already have that in pionk.

I may be in the minority for jets fans but I honestly entertain this because I really like Lundkvist

Its not that I want to get other team's prospects, I just don't know where Lundkvist fits and think the Jets need forward prospects more than yet another D prospect.

Kinda think the Jets are going to be stuck with their dmen like Schmidt, Demelo, etc till they expire so then Lundkvist just sits in the AHL like the many other Jets D prospects, just doesn't make a lot of sense at the moment.

Winnipeg doesn't have a lot of quality forward prospects, they need to keep the ones they have.

Normally I would never even think about trading Lundkvist. I actually think more of him than Schneider. But NYR desperately need good center prospects. That can play with one year at least of ECL to make the cap work.

I understand the Pionk argument. And I hear where you are coming from. I want Lundkvist to get the chance he deserves so he can become the NHL player I know he can.
I honestly value him higher than Schneider because I see Lundkvist as a player with higher potential. The search goes on smile thank you for your input

I hope he gets his chance as well. He seems like a very talented dman. I just think Winnipeg isn’t the right fit due to the makeup of their roster currently. He definitely has a fit somewhere though.

Also, I’m surprised to hear you value him over Schneider. Rangers fans seem to think Schneider is the 2nd coming of Jesus Christ.

Schneider is a Trouba 2.0. While Lundkvist has the potential to become of the better PP point d - man of Swedish players. I recommend watch some SHL highlights.
I think Schneider is great, seem to have a real genuine attitude around him. But we already have a Trouba. Lundkvist could be a 15-20 goal a season defender, in my opinion.

I respect and understand all the arguments you have laid out. I've already thinking we might not need to move Lundkvist, perhaps play Trouba on the left?

I’m not sure how trouba would perform on his off side. I don’t think he’s ever played LD unless he has for the rangers. I agree that Schneider is a similar player to trouba.

I never knew Nils had that much potential. I remember him having some ridiculous years in the SHL but never knew how he progressed when he came over to NA.

He is a slow grower, took him two years to really become a star in SHL. But when he did at the age of 20 he did it in style. The thing is he really needs to play power play, if he doesn't he is a okay top 6 d man. After two season finding his game against men. I expect the same in NHL / AHL growth period. This is the breakout season as a 20 year old.
2019-20 Lulea SHL Games45 Goals 11 Ass 20 points 31 +18 PIM 30 |
Which he followed up as 21 year old the season after (so no fluke)
But he needs to play power play
