I wouldn’t trade DeMelo for Hamonic one for one. Why are we the team adding a 2nd?

In my 30 years of watching the NHL, I've noticed a winning culture starts at the top and filters down. It's about social dynamics, leadership, and accountability. IMO Blake Wheeler is the key to WPG.

Need a big rhd dman that can play half the game and large/physical, and something to drop Lowry and harkins to 4th line. Two guys that could push top 6 along with Appleton on a mismatch line, that possibly comes up large in the playoffs.

They’re basically the same player on the same cap hit but Hamonic is a UFA in a year. You’d probably need to pay a 2nd for Ostapchuk

The team needs a shakeup for sure. Scheifele, PLD, Wheeler, one or all need to go.

Ottawa wouldn't trade Ostapchuk for a 2nd or even a late first. He's rising fast, they know what they have in him. He's the same kind of find as Batherson, Pinto, Formenton, Greig, etc

That LA trade is really fukkin terrible for the Jets.

This team probably needs to rebuild and build around Lucius and Perfetti. Trade as many big names as possible. Connor, Helle, and Ehlers should get a good return. Wheeler might be stuck till next trade deadline, and Scheifele should get a decent return as well.

The culture in the locker room is too toxic. Everyone blamed Laine, eventually they'll blame PLD cause he's lazy, it's a disease.

Why trade for Reaves and not play him? That is NYR business model. As well as give up Buch for nothing. But yeah NYR accepts because that would allow them to sign Motte to okay AV but terrible term.
