Can't believe I'm voting yes, but I think he's deserved this after last year. It's not like Chicago has much to lose by giving him a non league min contract. Good on Jack.

And, they're very clearly trying to finish 32nd this year. Signing "bad" players isn't a hindrance

This is a good signing if only because it helps them tank.

Deserves? His stats are horrible. But he's a Stanley Cup Champion so...

He held his own in Colorado last year. They had arguably better names available to use in their roster but the coach still put him in the roster as a regular over others.

I agree that his stats are for the most part laughable in recent history, but if you know anything about his backstory off the ice... dude's had some pretty bad things happen to him financially so seeing him make that money back is nice to see regardless of how much hockey fans will call it deserved or not.

I've been wondering which prospect was going to be the 7th defenseman. I like this as it lets whoever that prospect would have been stay in the AHL instead of playing bottom pair minutes / being healthy scratched all year.

Is this a good signing? Not really, but A) it helps the Blackhawks with their "tank hard for Bedard" goal for this year, and B) it's so good to see Johnson have some measure of success after all he's been through. Wishing him nothing but the best.

Chicago finally bringing what they were missing, a veteran that can at least set the example to rookies and other young players. He ain't the kind of guy who's gonna go cry on the roofs that he's big sad because they aren't competitive.
