Isles decline pretty easily plus their left side on d is set for years.

Isles wouldn’t trade Barzal for that package alone. This trade proposal is looking at delusional in the rear view mirror.

I mean for Coronato it makes sense, he's having an amazing World Juniors so far, and also he grew up in Long Island, and we might as well trade him for something before he leaves in FA in a couple years for nothing.

Barzal isn't an 80 point scorer anymore, didn't he put up like 30 points this year? If the Flames are to purse him we aren't giving up key future assets like a 1st or a Zary/Pelletier

Using only Points Is a terrible way to evaluate Barzal. He’s still an elite center in his prime.

This is an awful trade for the isles. You can pursue him all you want, he’s not available

You don’t have to worry pursuing him when his extension is announced In September.

He put up 59 points with no consistent linemates last year. The only year in his career when he wasn’t forced to play in a defensive system, his rookie year, he was a ppg player. I expect him to get back to that level this year. Also, why are you making it seem like he is washed up? He is 25 years old and isn’t even in his prime yet

Hahahaha, Still Hurting From The Playoffs I See... You Should Have Started Off With Peletier And Zary, plus a first if you want Barzal, One Bad Season Doesn't Drop His Value, On Another Note, His Season Wasn't As Bad As Everyone Says It Was, 59 Points With The Guys He Had To Work With Seems Pretty Good To Me

Preface this by saying I don't think the islanders would take this but calgary would.

Butttt people sleeping huge on hanifin. Guy is only 25, is 6"3, went 5oa, extremly durable, has played over 500 games and is a legit top pairing D on a division champ. He put up 48 pts last the year.

The guy is good, not sure why he is slept on. He's worth a top line forward similar in age.

yeah, i think its more than fair. isles fans are all "no wayy!, connor mcdavid+" haha. normal bias. fact is we have a guy not putting up enough points to justify paying whatever he may make next year (not saying he is not worth it on potential, but that is subjective no matter what side you are on, good luck quantifying "i swear he better under a different coach, bro trust me"). plus wasn't Barzal's actual salary $10M this season? so i am not sure, but doesn't that make his QO next year $10M?? Im just saying, regardless of subjective opinions on potential, doesn't that make his points vs. firm QO somewhat risky? again, worth it for me, but if your looking at it objectively, that risk effects his trade value substantially, compound that with there is a premium for defensemen (remember Hall Larsson haha, okay not best example), and again add the fact that defensemen who already there is a premium on is on a value contract for a couple seasons vs, Brazal's, that no only would I consider a direct Hanifin/Barzal swap more than fair, but I am going to bet NYI would have to be the one kicking in a minor bump to get the deal done. people may feel a different way because he is skilled anf fun to watch, but if you strip away the 'feelings' and focus on the objective parts, there is really nothing wrong with this guys proposal.

sorry one more thing though.....we really do need to stop moving one of the NHL's best centremen to wing...completely defeats the purpose of getting another top end caliber player. IMO
