I’m really curious. Is your favorite team possibly Dallas? Idk man just a guess

I would bet some Canadian dollars that the 3 of them will be better than Wright.

Tage Thompson has a shot at this list.

He’s not better than many of the centers on the list and has less potential than basically all of these guys

You expect 20 year olds to become top 20 centers right away? That seems odd

That was literally my entire point. The idea that in 3 years all these prospects will be top 20 Cs is crazy.

Well half this list is filled with completely unproven players. Pettersson is proven. He is a top 20 center now and will be in 5 years. It’s very hard to judge half those players cause most of them haven’t even seen NHL icetime yet

This list is predicting the top 20 centers in 3 years. What does them being unproven have to do with anything? This is talking about THREE years down the line

I do agree with you to a certain extent
The guys that were drafted in 2021 or 2022 is unlikely they’ll be top 20
I could see anyone from 2020 down

Its not such a blanket statement. But in 3 years 2020 draftees will be going into their age 22-23 seasons. Most arent going to be top 20 Cs. That would equate to 2017 draftees at the current time. How many of them would you even consider for top 20?

Homie, stop being delusional. One of them has the potential to do that. Not all three. Their current trajectories show that none of them will be top 20 centers. I think they will be great players, possibly for one of them an incredible player that could potentially be on this list. But you can’t say with a straight face that all the other players/prospects that have done better than those three shouldn’t be in the top 20 just bc ur a stars fan and wanna see ur guys on their. Also it is very telling that you don’t watch other teams/prospects so you are commenting after probably just seeing highlights of those three guys, and ur comparing them to players you’ve never watched. Ur making a claim that ur Dallas prospects are great. Not better than other guys that you’ve never actually watched

Hard to compare different draft classes like that. 2020 draft is a much stronger draft than 2017

Right but this is all pure speculation. No list like this can be accurate anyway. I’d imagine a player currently elite in 3 years would be better than a player currently unproven as that other player has had more development time and experience. Even if we go by potential, guys like Sillinger, Lundell, Zegras are too high. This is like saying that half of the 2017-2018 draft class will cover half of the current top 20 centers in the NHL

I agree, its pure speculation. So your statement of these players being unproven isn't very relavent

My point is stop comparing players that haven’t done nearly as much as other players on this list. The trajectories don’t line up to be a top 20 center. I did read ur comment and the first one was a very bold and most likely untrue one. Ur Shane Wright one to me is absurd, but I could definitely see it happening if all goes well. Ya can’t comment they’ll be better than Wright after I called you a Dallas fan. Ur saying go read my comment when ur answer has got nothing to do with my comment. Ur a hypocrite my friend. And ya clearly don’t watch hockey

Draisaitl should be higher. There's no reason to think that Barkov will somehow leapfrog him in the next 3 years - they're the same age. Bedard might, but he'll have just turned 20 so even that's a stretch.

He’s got a shot, didn’t say he was going to be. Last season was his breakout season, he started with 12 goals and 20 points in his first 32 games, then followed that up with 26 goals and 48 points in 46 games. If he can repeat that stretch over a full season, that gets him to ~44 goals and ~86 points. Those are the stats of a top 20 center. He was 19th in the league in goals last year (whole league, not just centers), in his first season at center in the NHL. He’s got a shot.
