I can see DK taking another team friendly contract 2-3yr 2-3mil/swayman 3-4yr 2-3mil/Zacha 2-3yr 3.5-4.5mil/ Fredrick 1-3yr 2-3mil/ Pasta 7yr 8-8.5mil(21mil) but given expiring contracts like Craig Smith, Chris Wagner, and Connor Clifton you would have more than enough to resign depth players and if you want given Bergeron signs another very friendly team deal, and at the end of the day you could still sell Wheeler if hes producing still for good price given Jets hold 50% of contract

DK is 37. He’s not signing 2-3 year deal.

Pasta wants 8 years100m. That’s 12.5. Market has been set. He does not come in at less than 9.5 per.

Those expiring contracts are a non factor. They were already gone and off the books.

It just not feasible.

I created an ACGM for next year.

Signed Pasta-10. Zacha-5. Sway-4. Frederic-2. Brought up Lysell, Beecher, Studnicka, Greer for cheap options to fill roster.

At that point they were 1m under the cap with a 21 man roster and no allowance for bonus overages.

They will have to move contracts in order to sign Bergy and DK if they choose to continue and make improvements , like Reilly, Forbort, Coyle, Ullmark as possibilities.

Taking on extra to this mess is just not an option.

Good talking to you. 👍🏻 I gotta get to bed, long day tomorrow.

Even with this logic would you want to sign a 31yo 2nd/3rd line center to a 5-7yr deal even if it was for 6-7.5mil… gm already said we wont pull a Tampa and hold Pacioretty on LTIR until playoffs so he will be coming back after the All-Star break given recovery goes as planned. That being said in order to even come close to signing Kadri would need to dump Gardner and maybe even Kase or bears as well to make it work and even though it gives us a better shot a winning a cup within next 1-2 years we would be shooting our selves in the foot essentially not being anle to sign key pieces or prospects in the future and turning from a team that could be a cup contender for the next 1-4 years to turning into just a playoff contender with 1 maybe 2 good shots at a cup

Would prefer to replace Drury, but considering the deal doesn't go after our very top prospects, I think it would be fair. Including both Gardiner and Bear is generous. I'd be okay with WPG taking back one of those.

I did Drury over Suzuki as I didn't touch Morrow and Necas.

Yeah and as much as I hate to give Drury up, have to give to get and Ehlers is very good. Suzuki isn’t a good prospect at this stage imo. He’s had some rough luck and injuries so I don’t think he has a ton of value. He may turn it around but I don’t think he’s a great trade chip unfortunately.

What is this take? By your logic, Kadri is unsigned in August, so they can get him cheap right? Or does that only apply to guys like Milano and Stastny? Stastny and Kadri's career averages are very similar, so are you just playing favorites here or what? For one, they're not dumping a guy that hasn't even played a GAME in Kase. They'd dump Fast, Kase's better anyway. And they don't need to dump Gardiner to sign Kadri, they could dump Pacioretty. That would also get them under. And it doesn't have to be a long term contract. He's unsigned in August. If no one is going to pay what he wants, and he wants to be in the NHL, he'll find a home somewhere.

Not a ridiculous ask but Struble isn't really a need. Lots of LD in Winnipeg so would rather the forward.

Habs management seem to believe they have a steal in Farrell so it is highly unlikely they want to move him until they find out. Perhaps one of Tuch, Mysak, Kapanen or a similar forward prospect would be of interest.

Funny that the Ehlers and Connor trades are the worst ones for the Jets.. lol 😆

I was thinking that as I scrolled down - damn some if these are cheap!" Then I got to the Edmonton deal... no dice, pal!

The Dubois return is low too.
