WHY?

1 Because Nyquist is UFA after the year.
2 2th pick
3 a rookie

For sure this trade grow the cap, but is early before the season and Hughes have time to fix it EASYLY.

Fact : Savard 3 year contrat and Nyquist 1 year.

Both club says YES.

Pretty sure the Jackets would prefer the cap freedom that comes with Nyquist after this year over a declining Savard. They also have too many young RD coming up to commit $7.5mil to Gudbransson and Savard over the next 3 season.

Yeah and leaving Only Edmunson and Matheson with experience in NHL to play for MTL. Wideman have more experience then other young D-men but still not a Regular 82 match defensemen. Summer is still early to have some free agent who could be sign for low money and have some experience like Stralman but still that a bit to much for me. Even if we 're in rebuilding mode, there still need of experience player who could help young men growth well into the game.
