Stankoven is the least likely of the 3 to make the opening night roster, IMO.
Bourque is AHL eligible so the Stars have a little bit more flexibility with him on what they want to do, but he's the most NHL ready of the 3.
It really comes down to Johnston vs. Stankoven. With Kamloops hosting the Memorial Cup Tournament next season, I think Dallas sends Stankoven back to the WHL for 1 more year of development, where he can continue to get some work on the wing (where he'll play at the NHL level) and get some guaranteed valuable development time in high-pressure, postseason situations.
With Johnston being as absolutely dominant as he was last season, Dallas has the luxury of allowing Stankoven to get a little bit more development time before putting him in the Dallas lineup.
