If we flipped Sandin to LA I’d love for them to look at someone like Durzi instead of Vilardi. Cool idea though

Don't know why you say the Leafs have a log jam at LHD. IMO the Leafs aren't giving up three futures with term for one year of Miller.
Sorry Pearson doesn't get more than a 3rd at TDL especially since his contract extends to 2024.

I agree completely. "Logjam"?!?!? Toronto has two senior citizens and no one else at LhD behind Reilly. To me, Sandin (or a young replacement, whom you don't currently have in the system) is an essential this season. And I don't see why we would have less trouble signing Sandin to a new contract than the Maple Leafs have had, and he'd have to come in at $1.5 million or less to keep us under the cap. Plus, with Anderson, Sandin, Bjornfot and Edler on the left, Jakob Moverare is exposed because he's not waivers-exempt.

Sandin for Vilardi is just a poor fit. Sandin for Moverare plus a high draft pick has some appeal. Sandin for Durzi is a roll of the dice for a front office that is pretty conservative, because to me, Durzi has shown more potential than Sandin. Other realistic possibilities become ever more complicated.

Just to add by previous comments. Folks think Sandin isn't signing with the Leafs. Well the other 31 teams have had the chance to sign him too and haven't. So I do expect Sandin to be a Leaf this season.
Man, does 4.7m Murray contract look bad. Thought the Leafs got lucky on 1.8m Samsonov but surely there were other capable goalies capable for a lot less than Murray. Heck 1.8m X 2 Comrie would have been a good choice in IMO.
