Most likely Bellows already signed his new deal, if not Isles would not match.

My understanding (and I could be wrong) is that the QO situation changed in the last CBA, where it's now the AAV of the contract, instead of being the most recent salary.

That being said, there's a 0% chance that I'd move a 2nd for Bellows, let alone give him that contract.

Genuinely curious as to why you'd be looking that hard at Bellows? Seems like if you're interested in throwing out an offer sheet, there's few better candidates to chase. Simply signing someone Milano would be cheaper/have more upside than something like this, IMO.

But for seriousness, I think the Canucks should look to sign Milano or Motte to a 1 year deal. Trade Pearson for whatever, does Motte reject a 1 year deal at 2M at this point?
