Smith might get a late 2nd if we were to trade him to the right team but we're still going for it so theres no need unless Lysell really steals a spot, his deal is up after this season so its not a problem to have him

Agreed on both accounts. I guess my biggest thing regarding his trade value is that *if* there was a "right" team to trade him to, you might get that 2nd (That's a deadline return IMO). I just don't see there being a "right" team at this point. Like, it'd be a playoff team going after him, and there's (IMO) like mayyyybe 2 playoff teams that have the cap space to absorb that contract without sending one back (which you need).

The cap situation in the league is (hilariously) f'd right now, and it's going to be really funny when the first domino falls from the over-the-cap teams dumping salary.
