Monahan sucks and is coming off of surgery. Beauvillier at 4.1 is worth a lot more than Monahan.

2 year term vs 1 year term. Read the fine print. Teams are dumping cap, Beau is overpaid

So Montreal gets a 1st, Wilde and Beauvillier for $3,187,500 in cap space?

Going rate for that much is between a 2nd or 3rd rounder.

Wilde isnt much of a prospect but was born and raised in Montreal. Beau is a cap dump. 3.1875,000 is worth a late 1st especially when you are taking a 2 year term on Beauvilier.

Beau is not overpaid and the isles don’t need to clear cap space. The difference is Beau is at worst a solid middle 6 wing, Monahan is a fringe NHLer.

Nemeth $2.5m x 2 = $5.0m = 2nd, 3rd (minus Emberson)
Stralman $5m = 2nd
Gostisbehere $4.5m = 2nd
Ladd $4.375 x 2 = $8.75m = two 2nds
Lehner $2.5m = 5th
Foligno $2.75m = 4th
Savard $2.125m = 4th
Marleau $6.25m = 1st
Backes $4.5m = 1st (-Kase +Axel)
Brassard $3m = 3rd

Mahura for three years of the cap dump Armia and the 2024 second has appeal and is a realistic possibility.

Ducks haven't given up on Comtois yet, we just cleaned house at LW and decided to keep him, we wouldn't have bothered if we didn't want to hang onto him.

Agreed. Comtois led us in scoring one year ago. Not worth moving him for this, and a big young left winger with a scoring touch is exactly what we need
