I'd rather keep Evans, he's got heart but he's a bottom six guy at best. Nowhere near Danault's value with the habs.

Don't think Montreal trades Evans for a late 2nd and a 2024 3rd. Too valuable and a great cap hit. For that return Calgary can keep Monahan

The point is the Habs didn’t overpay Danault specifically because they had Evans. They’re not moving Evans.

He's a bottom six guy, he can be moved. Especially when they Have Suzuki, Dach, Dvorak, maybe Monahan now down the middle and other young centers pushing up. It's not farfetched at all.

Gretzky can be moved. You’re not saying anything. Evans has a different skillset than all those guys. He’s not going anywhere. Monahan doesn’t likely have a future with the Habs unless he’s good with a way lower cap hit. I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s immediately shipped out as part of a 3 way trade. Or maybe Dvorak gets moved instead if we get value for him in return.
