Yeah the timing would have to be pretty specific. Probably would have to be on day one of the season but before the first game so that the Canucks don’t have to use any LTIR at all

Seems like a trade GM Hughes would be looking to do.
You would definitely make up those assets with trades done at deadline.you should have accrued some nice cap space

Mtl traded Weber’s contract on LTIR because teams hate using LTIR. It penalizes them with accrued cap space. Especially if Ferland’s contract isn’t insured. Habs pass

Mtl has to put price on LTIR this year. No matter what they will h e to use LTI and having 2 players on is not different than having 1
