No, he's not worth that. And no, you don't pay for retention when the only thing retention does is get the salary to a reasonable point. He's completely unmoveable without it.

Toews is spent. He has be horrible defensively for a number of years and his play is part of the reason CHI has dropped so precipitously the last few years. I wouldn’t pay just a 1st rd pick for him at 50% retained. He isn’t the answer for anybody. This is an easy no from COL.
