There is no path to acquiring Dobson without Slafkovsky or Caufield .

The odds of anyone in that trade becoming a top line caliber player is extremely low.

Nope. It’s gonna have to be Caufield, Suzuki, or Slaf. Dobson is their 22 year old franchise RD

No way your serious lmaooo islanders get a guy who could either be a 2nd or 3rd line center if he actually produces if not 4th liner and 2 prospects from your pool who arnt even top 10 in your organization????????

Not enough. Dobson is untouchable. The islanders biggest need is goal scoring. Caufield is a projected elite sniper. Dobson for Caufield plus maybe a mid round pick could get it done but also at least include a 2023 first in that package

Not my team lol just chiming in, but if id have to assume islanders wouldn’t let a possibles young top 2dman go for anything less than a young promising top 6 fwd like Eeli Tolvanen/Mason Mctavish/Marco Rossi/Kent Johnson and a 1st or 2nd rd pick or a promising young top 2 dman like Simon Nemec or Luke Hughes straight up

Islanders need quality, they have plenty quantity. There’s three islanders that aren’t going anywhere for any reason unless there’s a kings ransom.

Mailloux and Barron could be almost as good as Dobson and Dach will be a 55-75 point player. Then adding a first on top, not a bad package and a f*** no from MTL

Mailloux has played 16 OHL games in the past 3 seasons. I'm not saying he can't turn into a useful player but trying to sell him as a positive asset right now is a big stretch.

Nothing in Barron's junior career or short pro career so far projects as to anything other than a solid middle pair guy. Saying these guys might be "almost as good" as the guy you're trying to trade for isn't really selling your offer.

Dach has scored 59 points in parts of 3 seasons where his most common linemates have been Patrick Kane & Alex deBrincat. I'm sure he's got some untapped potential, but it's not like he hasn't been given every chance to try and develop into a 55 point guy already. Hard to look at him as a strong top line prospect until he shows he can bring it, so I'm not sure how much trade value you can place on him.

Its a 2025 first which will probs be the worse of the 2025 first. Dach is at most a middle 6 guy at this point, if he couldn't get it going with Kane and Debrincat doubt he becomes better. Mallioux is a huge no from Lou and Barron MIGHT reach Dobson but you're banking off that. Easy no

Mailloux and Barron would be lucky to be half as good as Dobson.

That original quote is one of the best real-life examples I've ever seen of "sure, a boat's a boat, but the mystery box could be anything - even a boat" reasoning.

Ya there is a 25% chance that Dach really reach that level
