There is no chance that Dubas who is the best GM in the entire National Hockey League is going to give away Rasmus Sandin, a potential first pairing defenceman for years to come in the NHL.

Sandin's value is pretty high considering hes a top 4 Dman in the making and has produced good numbers at both ends

Sheary for a 2nd is way to low for him lul

Any trade would probs revolve around someone like McMichael

In the making who knows if he gets there maybe u throw instead of sheary, leason then I would do him + a 3 or 4th because he’s a good young guy

Values getting worse and worse

If Toronto was to trade Sandin then to start things off a guy like McMichael would probs have to go the other way if not a prospect of equal caliber.

Sandin is a special hockey player who just keeps improving every year and thinks the game at a very high level......I think the sky is the limit for him.

Yeah no we’ll just offer sheet him. Anything over a second round pick for Sandin is good value for you guys. Considering Sheary is worth at least an early second or late first, this trade is pretty damn great for you guys.

this is a fair offer for Sandin. More than an offersheet would return and the leafs also fill a hole in their middle 6. While I like Sandin a lot and think he is indeed a future top 4 defenseman, he's also one thats currently 4th in Toronto's LD depth chart and played 13 minutes a night in the most recent playoffs. Toronto has painted themselves into a corner with a Sandin contract so absolutely zero chance they are getting more than a package like this if they decide to move him.

LmfaoConfusedimulated conversations

Guy 1:who’s the best gm in hockey?
Guy 2: sakic
Guy 3:brisebois
Guy 4:yzerman
Guy 5: dubas!!!
“Stunned looks”

Dubas resume: didn’t draft any of their best players, signed overpriced deals, hasn’t made it out of first round, traded for a terrible goalie…

Lul Sheary is not worth a late 1st to early 2nd talk about overvaluing. He's worth a 4th at most. Considering we have seen better players be traded for less wouldnt surprise me if the value was less than what I said

As for a Sandin offersheet that time has long passed. Its pretty clear he doesnt want to sign one as if he wanted to he would have done it by now. And teams rn are scared to do so as Carolina basically made sure of that

Yes he does lul. Sandin is pushing top 4 Dman in the making. McMichael is a guy pushing into the NHL. Both were taken late in the 1st round and both have high potential. Its an even trade but if your gonna overvalue McMichael go ahead

19 goals, 24 assists, 43 points in 71 games this past season. This is while he's making 1.5m and playing anywhere from first line to fourth line, no consistent line mates. You put him with Matthews and Marner he's a point per game player. If you're trying to compare him to the Bjorkstrand trade, you are clearly overlooking the entire reason columbus made that trade. They were pushing the cap, they had a surplus of wingers, and they needed to move a contract with AAV and term to make room for Laine and Gaudreau. The caps have cap room and Sheary is on one of the most flexible contracts you could ask for. Bjorkstrand is making 5.4m for another four years and put up 28 goals, 29 assists, 57 points in 80 games. Bjorkstrand pulled a third and a fourth and that was seen as undervaluing him, Sheary gets a late first. I'm going to assume you're a troll at this point, and I'm wasting my time, but please be a little bit less of an idiot next time if you're not trolling.

Thats a lot of writing to try and justify something thats false. Sheary is not worth a late 1ST or early 2nd and many people on this site besides myself will tell you that even certain caps fans if you think he's worth that that's on you but reality of the situation rn is he's not
