You know we can click on your profile and see who you have listed as your "Favo(u)rite Team", right?
But for S&Gs:
-If the Isles wanted to move Varly, Vegas is a good option for it. Varly basically slides right into Lehner's $5M cap hit and will be gone by the time Lehner is ready to play in 2023-24, so it's an option for them. I think they'd need to send some cap back, though, and I wouldn't hate doing some sort of deal that is Hague/Laurent Brossoit for Varly+a mid round pick? Isles still clear about $2.7M in that deal and get Hague, whom I personally like a lot as a player.
-San Jose has three goalies under contract right now and they all need to pass through waivers. I'd wait til the end of training camp and try and offer a lower pick for Reimer; but personally, I'd still stick with getting Brossoit back from Vegas to back up Sorokin instead of throwing out another 2nd rounder for Reimer.
-OK, this is silly. You know this is silly, right?
Hoglander might turn into what Anthony Beauvillier currently is. The ELC salary is nice, sure, but I honestly don't think it's crazy to say they more or less cancel out in here. If you want to throw Kieffer Bellows into that equation (ie, Beau+Bellows' value = Hog's value), sure, whatever. I think that's fair.
So that makes the rest of the trade JT Miller for Noah Dobson & a 2023 1st. In other words, history's fastest hang-up.
I will keep pounding this drum: the Isles and Canucks do not line up well on a JT Miller trade. If the Canucks want an RD prospect in return for JTM, they gotta go elsewhere because it just doesn't fit on the Island. Pulock & Dobson are too much value to send back for Miller; Mayfield/Grant Hutton/Bode Wilde are not nearly enough value to send back as headliners in a Miller package. If RD is your line in the sand, find another team.
