So the Avs trade you Girard and a first for Larkin who they can't afford to re-sign so you can re-sign him the next season. Yeah, like that will happen.

So you think Detroit trades Larkin 7 years retained for like 21 million dollars for a package I wouldn't trade him for at all. This whole thing is bananas.

They trade him at 2023 deadline as rental. Then sign him back in off-season.

Devils should neither trade Holtz for a rental, nor even be interested in Bertuzzi if they were in the playoffs in the off chance they play Toronto as he couldn't go to away games...

Nor would I even want to extend him for that cost...I'd rather spend money elsewhere

        Sharks probably decline

Meier is probably worth a 1st plus an A prospect. Late 1st, 2nd, and meh prospects likely isn't enough

I think this whole post is a fantasy land but the Jackets almost did the same thing you are dismissing but with nick foligno. They could get more for larkin than foligno for sure at a deadline and i wouldn't put it out of the realm of possibility that he returns. ( I think Girard and a first is a bit rich)

It's not his returning to Detroit I'm questioning or dismissing, it's the fact the OP thinks that the Avs would be likely to do it. Kind of thought that would be pretty clear.

Yeah the blues decline. If they weren't going to retain Perron in the first place you can bet they are not trading Neighbors for him even with 50% retained

Pretty much. The one thing that hasn't been covered yet is the Wings end up with the #1OA pick extremely improbable!
