Note that they have to with Price going on LTIR or career over; who knows.

Trades
1.
MTL
I can see Winnipeg getting Armia back and perhaps the Habs get generous and send them a 2nd also. Not sure if it's needed though. Jets could use another big body and are thin on the wing.
    Future Considerations
    WPG
    1. Armia, Joel
    2. 2023 4th round pick (PIT)
    Additional Details:
Some see this as a cap dump for the Habs however the Jets did have to send him to the Habs for helping them out of a jam a couple seasons ago.

Same thing goes for Minny in terms of players needed.

Unlikely Winnipeg has any interest in Armia. A badly overpaid, extremely inconsistent, bottom six winger is the definition of a pure cap dump.

3 years at a horrid $3.4/season definitely costs you at least a first to dump. Enticing a team to waste a contract spot and $10.2 mil won't come cheaply.

It's not fair to say 10.2 is wasted. He'd be perfectly well paid at half the amount for the offense, defense and forechecking he brings, wouldn't you say?

I disagree with the premise that he's overpaid at 1.7M / season. If a team has a need, the cap dump portion should be seen as 5.1M

If the Habs send their 2023 2nd and a 3rd in 2024 the Jets should do it.

Minnesota isn't taking on your cap dumps. He's a bottom line 4th line overpaid player Minnesota doesn't need

At his full salary, such is what were talking about here, it is a waste and WILL cost more than what is offered here to dump.

I agree at 50% retained he'd be easier to move and I didn't say that at $1.7 he is overpaid. I only commented on the actual proposal.

Habs shouldn't trade Armia with the year he had. Why sell a player at his lowest value? He almost scored 20 goals 2 years ago. Hopefully habs trade him after a good season for him
