Even if he's only going to be a 6th/7th D, I don't really hate this for the Islanders. There's really not a ton of depth currently in the system, and while Reilly would be a pricey guy as a healthy scratch, having reliable depth is something the team was missing last season. As it stands right now, the first guys up beyond the presumptive top 6 D are Aho & Grant Hutton - not exactly an incredibly hopeful pair.

Yes, pricey but I think Reilly would take the 3rd LD spot over Salo.

Lou is going to sign Greene to a 2-way deal but he will never actually go to Bridgeport. Lou will "send him down" and then just keep him around the team.

NYI won't have the cap space. Half retention and straight up for Aho would be a choice.

I don't hate this idea either - nothing against Aho or Hutton, but if this team is trying to get back to the playoffs I'd like *some* experience ready to go in the press box.

If they acquired Reilly, I'd want to see him getting 40-50 games by spelling guys for a night or two - keep everyone fresh, even if you occasionally have to play him on his off hand. The team is getting older and if the playoffs are the goal, I would want guys getting some regular season nights off and save some of those miles for the spring

Yeah, would have to pay a lot more to dump both Foligno and Coyle. If either of them, better to pay the price to dump coyle since it is multiple years. Not sure Boston will even be up for that.
Forward depth looks good though. I would place Debrusk as 2RW with 37 and 63 and place Rodrigues as the 3C, shifting Zacha to 3LW (Zacha has performed much better on the wing as of late compared to C).

I don't think signing Subban is necessary.

Coyle needs to wave for Chicago doesn't he. I can't see it.

If you are trying to dump that much salary on Chicago you are gonna have start with a 2023 1st and keep adding.

I don’t see Coyle as a traditional cap dump. He’s is a great player making a little too much for the bruins roster. But he is a great center option and leader for a rebuilding team like Chicago.

I think Subban would do great in the Montgomery system. And would help the bruins PP. and he has the swagger like Marchand to get a little dirty and cocky which I think we need.
