Trades
1.
TOR
  1. 2024 3rd round pick (WPG)
WPG
  1. Kerfoot, Alexander
Additional Details:
Winnipeg needs a penalty killing forward, which is what Kerfoot does extremely well, plus he can also chip in on the offence.

This could also be done with either Minnesota or Nashville, both of which are also looking for a player like Kerfoot.
2.
LAK
  1. Sandin, Rasmus [RFA Rights]
Additional Details:
This was a deal I've seen in many other places, including other posts on this site. The deal seems to be good for both sides, as Sandin seems to have priced himself out of the Leaf's lineup.
3.
NSH
  1. Hirvonen, Roni
Additional Details:
I won't lie, this trade is just because I really like this prospect, and would love to have him in the Leaf's organization. Also, Nashville did try to acquire Hirvonen at the 2021 draft, so we know they would be willing to trade a decent prospect to acquire him.

Kings don't have much cap space either, we still need to sign Durzi and Andersson.

Just what the Kings fans needed. Another name for Toronto fans to jump on and try to cram down our throats for the next month lol.

The cap space that Vilardi saves versus Sandin is one of the primary reasons why this wouldn't work for LA. Not to mention the Kings aren't looking to sell low on a guy of Vilardi's talent level.

A Sean Walker or Sean Durzi for Sandin swap might interest LA, though.

Is the Kings ever offered Durzi for Sandin, the Leafs would jump on that in a heartbeat.

NSH tried to acquire Hirvonen? Never heard that rumour before.

The Preds have a lot of great prospects on the wing, but not much at RD aside from Prokop and Ufko. Positionally, the proposal doesn't make sense for them.

Toronto wanted Nashville's second round pick, and Nashville was willing to do the deal for Hirvonen straight up, instead of doing pick swaps. Leads me to believe they would be interested in acquiring him.

That was the draft NSH traded their 2nds to move up into the first round and pick L'Heureux. It doesn't seem like NSH would have been in discussions to trade away one of those picks for a prospect, if they were trying to trade up the day before.

FWIW I take any rumour about the Preds coming from Leafs bloggers and writers with a big grain of salt. They're never accurate nor make sense from a Preds perspective. 90% of the time it's usually about Kerfoot, who NSH has never needed or shown interest in.

If Sandin has priced himself out of the Maple Leafs, he's too rich for the Kings. We need every trade from now on to be not only cap-neutral but roster-neutral, because we will have 4 LhDs on the roster once we re-sign Mikey Andersson and only one of them -- Tobias Bjornfot, whom we'd like to keep up in the NHL -- is waivers-exempt.

Rasmus Sandin for Jakob Moverare and Sean Walker has some appeal if you're able to move Alex Kerfoot.
