Sigenthaler-Hamilton is a top pair?? Or Hughes? the left side just seem thin.

Yes. Siegenthaler-Hamilton is a top pair. Dougie doesn't need to be nor should he be paired with another offensive defenseman.

0.48ppg last year is tied for his worst season in the league since he was 21, his advanced metrics were the worst they've been since 2015-16, given he's been on some very good teams prior to last year you don't think that he could use a better partner? Girodano was an offensive D man, Slavin puts up good numbers obviously more effective in his own end but getting Dougie someone to drive play with couldn't be a bad thing.

Calgary needs their D. When they face Edmonton in the playoffs Calgary won't win in an arms race. Calgary has the better D and need to use that to beat Edmonton or else it will be the same situation as last year in the playoffs

Dougie was injured. He should bounce back

Its probably Hughes - Dougie going forward but Siegenthaler is pretty underrated. He was the best defensive dman in the league last year. Tanev was 2nd or 3rd I believe.

Personally I just don't see any situation where Calgary logically moves Hanifin though. The odd man out is Kylington to me

Calgary needs to check in layers as a 5 man unit to beat McDavid and Draisaitl, no D man in the league outside of Cale Makar is going to be able to effectively check McDavid 1 on 1. Calgary has improved in that sense by adding Kadri, Backlund getting more shut down minutes and Calgary being able to pull the Lindholm line off of McDavid matchups. McDavid beat Calgary on the rush over and over again, Weegar helps that as one of the top rush defense D men in the league. No one is looking for an arms race with Edmonton.

He also broke his jaw and his toe last season... He had 20 points in his first 30 games before breaking his jaw.

I don't blame anybody for not knowing anything about the Devils last year, we sucked. But it's stupid to try to tell Devils fans how the Devils play...

The Devils have no reason to trade Holtz at this point. He just had a point-per-game season in his D+1 season in AHL and has three years of ELC remaining. And we have lots of young defensive options. Siegenthaler and Graves (then Hughes) figure to be their top-4 LD and one of Bahl, Okhotiuk, or Walsh as 3LD. Going forward, we also have Nemec, Mukhamadullin, Edwards, Vilen, Casey, etc.

Also, if Calgary is trading to win now, I would be surprised to see Hanifin on the market.

If Calgary included Wolf, they’d get our attention. But a Hanifin-Holtz swap doesn’t appear in either teams interest.

Implying Sieg-Dougie is a bad top pair and our left side is thin is telling Devils fans how the Devils play.

It's looking at the roster, numbers, results and saying it seems thin, asking if Dougie could use a better partner. Everyone else was able to get that without getting offended, join the crew.

In no way am I offended.

You hit me with stats about Dougie, I gave you some context for said stats.

Sieg is a better D partner for Dougie. He needs somebody to cover for him defensively. That's all I've said.
