I don't think you can expect a 1st AND Savoie for Mayfield. He basically matched Caulfield's NHLe through college. He's a good prospect.

The 1st reason you said is that if EDM is moving a 1st money is going out. That has nothing to do with whos coming back. But if holland moves a 1st bc of the value of that 1st money has to go out. To that i would say chiarot and savard both got 1sts and didnt take money back.

The 2nd reason you said is that both those teams had cap space. 1st thats not very fair bc tampa was able to fit like 1.25 and florida hadnt yet gotten giroux even though thats why they cleared space. Chiarot also was retained down to 1.75. As for mayfield hes making 1.45. Thats not enough to expect to take back cap and if you want to add some cap going back (barrie/foegele) its gonna cost an arm and a leg. This market hasnt been very kind to teams trying to dump cap.
