Description
I don't really know what the plan on defense will be, but I think Perunovich deserves some constant playing time. A trade still might be in the works to free up a little cap. Scandella makes sense. I could also see Barbashev being dealt if they don't think they can re-sign him for cheap

I’m kinda thinking Mikkola would be moved over Scandella for the ease of it.

If only putting lines together wasn't so complicated? First line all RW's? 3rd line all LW's?

Yeah, he is.

If he were good enough to play everyday then he would have got more than 950k. He is much better as a rotation player

What are you talking about, the Blues have no true top line LW's. Barbashev isn't consistent enough or talented enough to warrant 1st line LW. Kyrou played LW pretty much all year last year but didn't have the best chemistry with ROR to put him on the wing with him. Thomas and Schenn are both centers not wings and I would rather not put a rookie on the 4th line

Orrr if he was good enough he'd play everyday when fit, which he did last season.

and the defense was the weak spot of the team last year. Perunovich deserves more playing time over Bortz and Mikkola didn't sign his deal to sit on the bench

You're conflating things. Bortz had a nice season, and Perunovich is not his competition. Scotty ain;t gonna be out there PKing like a dragon, throwing himself in front of shots and clearing the crease. The only one that could maybe one day fill Bortz's role is Mikko, and he ain't there yet. And all these guys are LDs anyway. Bortz is about the least of our concerns, he does his specific job just fine.

yeah but Perunovich can play the right side so a bottom pair of Mikkola and Perunovich is what I want to see. Bortuzzo at times lets his emotions get to him and takes dumb penalties and the NHL is a speed game now
