I don’t think Toronto consider the Sandin deal. The Chychrun one seems fair to me but who knows with Arizona tbh

I think the Leafs pass. They could get offer-sheeted for a 2nd at that point which is arguably more valuable then a 4th and Brannstrom. Though I understand the potential.

I like Brannstrom but I don’t c a future for him in Ottawa since I don’t like when guys play their off sides. He may have value in dumping Zaitsev tho!!!

Yeah you could definitely be right. But in regards to the Sandin deal proposed, I can't see the Leafs doing that.

Could just send a second for him, but i’d think that brannstrom would be more useful to the leafs right now than a second round pick as he could slot into the roster right now.

I think Sandin has more value so it would require Brannstrom + 2nd but it's not true that a 2nd is more valuable than a 4th and Brannstrom. He was just 22 y/o last season, his game continued to progress and had some very impressive games towards the end of the season. He has 27 pts in his last 83 GP the last 2 seasons, as a 21 and 22 y/o. His speciality will be PP QBing

The "bust label" is urban legend more than anything else. He will be a quality NHLer but not a star. I think the problem comes from the unrealistic expectations that were placed on him. I like I have said a while ago, He will be somewhere a Tobias Enstrom and a Torey Krug

Never called him a bust and actually said I see the potential. From the Leafs perspective, the holes in Brannstrom's defensive game during a time where they are trying to win a cup (or even a round lol) will just make him the whipping boy on this team.

I think he has the potential to be a good NHLer and he is showing good development but I think Toronto isn't the spot

Good point about Toronto's scrutiny. Not a market for a young guy trying to establish himself. Way too much pressure, although we don't know, maybe he thrives under pressure.

And no worries, I wasn't referring to you when I said "bust label"... it's a term that has been thrown around though... but busts usually don't have 116 NHL games played by the end of their 22 y/o season, especially D-men
