You know there is such a thing a cap space you know that. My tip is to check the teams cap before assuming your trade will work.

Secondly NYR ain't trading Miller for nothing. They are very high on him, even more so than Schneider.

Ah yes, let’s downgrade the LHD and the goalie tandem, throw a top 4 RHD away for next to nothing and have a guy that just got drafted to replace, sign 4 fringe NHLers the Devils have no use for and put a possible sex offender in the lineup.
Brilliant.

I get that the Rangers doesn’t have the cap for this move but Severson alone is arguably more valuable than K’Andre, let alone adding Blackwood.

He isn't better than Trouba and fox? no... so why should NYR f- their future for someone playing top 6 while stealing Schneider's spot.

At least try to accommodate the needs of the other team. This is just as bad as the Gibson trade proposal from ANA fan yesterday.

I didn't comment about the fit, just about the value.
I don't think Severson is better than Fox, who's probably a top 5 defender league-wide.
But I think Severson is every bit as good as Trouba on the ice while not being a cap liability.
I don't think the Rangers should be looking to trade for a RHD anyways.

Cannot speak to the Gibson trade, I only really check AGMs that involve the Devils.
Generally I think that any team looking to trade for Gibson at this point will be making a major mistake, he hasn't been very good at the NHL level for about three years by now.

We'll isn't value based on needs? NYR doesn't need to lose left d on the roster. They don't need to another Rd. Hence for NYR the value of losing Miller is greater than adding Severson.
But for a team looking for RD, like OTT and VAN of course Miller has less value and Severson much more. So I sort of agree with you. But I don't think he is better than Trouba, cheaper yes, a top 4 yes, but Trouba brings a physicality that Severson doesn't. That is why teams trade with teams with the need of the player because to them acquiring that player is more valuable than a team that is already happy with that position.

League wide it is possible Severson has higher value, but not in NYR. In NYR Miller has more value, because of age, cap and position he plays.

This is just a troll. He's making his way through all the teams.

one of the easiest passes in history for the rangers. a scrub goalie that won't see time, and a middling RHD when the rangers have 2 if not 3 that are better than him.

I think value and fit are two separate variables, but I think must be some amount of both variables at the same time for a GM to go through with any given move.

My initial response was just due to your writing "... trading Miller for nothing."
Severson and Blackwood is not nothing.
That's really it.
