Those forward lines are interesting I can tell you don't watch the Canes. But anyways why are Leafs fans so set on trading Kerfoot to the Canes? Waddell doesn't really trade for 1 year rentals though so I don't see this happening especially with us having to give up a 2nd round pick.

1yr of Kerfoot at $3.5M does absolutely nothing for the Canes.

Riiiiiiight... Just like Domi last year didn't go to CAR with 1 yr left on his deal right? SMH.

As for the forward lines - just went with basically the defaults from Cap friendly here. Moved Jarvis up and Martinook to LW - that's about it. And like the specific lines make a difference for the purposes of the trade... sheesh! KK to 2C and Stall to 3C and Kerfoot to 2LW or Necas to 2LW playing his wrong side... whatever.

Ya bc he isn't a HUGE upgrade over Drury/McEachern/Dzingel/etc right? C'mon now.

Because Vancouver fans have told them repeatedly that he doesn’t fit here

There is no way that the Flyers/JVR trade request ever catches up with this one. Congratulations!

The difference between this trade and the Domi trade is that the Canes really gave up nothing for Domi. The Canes have made it known we trust our drafting enough that if we are going to trade a high round draft pick we will have to be getting a player with a longer term contract out of it.

At a $3.5M cap hit and at the cost of a 2nd, not an upgrade at all

Canes pass. Kerfoot is a nice player but Canes aren’t giving up a second for him when the league knows the leafs are in a cap bind and realistically wouldn’t take him on without salary going back. GMDW has said they’re not making any big moves with salary coming in bc they’ll need to account for Patches around Jan/Feb.
