There is no way Barzal gets that much. I think $10m on an 8 year deal will be pushing it tbh

He is going to ask for more than Robert Thomas got. I expect him to use the Zibanejad deal as a bench mark tbh.

No way he is getting more than 10M. I expect him to get around $8,750,000 or $8,950,000.

Really depends on his performance, but if he's signing an 8-year deal, off a bad season I don't see him wanting to take less than 9m. If he's the face of the franchise, getting 1m more than the likes of Thomas wouldn't be farfetched.

The most I see him getting on a great season is 10m, if he produces for something that warrants more maybe 10.5, otherwise I'm not sure that Lou wouldn’t explore the trade market at least.

Barzy is not getting near $10mm unless he goes 100pts plus this year not does he deserve that much. Wahlstrom is not anywhere near that $4.5 absent a 40+ goal year he hasn't shown any potential of $4.5 money.

I was aiming high with those estimates to see how it all fit. Wasn’t trying to get the numbers right

But my opinion is that Barzal won’t sign for below $10.5M and can find that elsewhere. Lou does pay up for his key guys and I’m pretty sure he’s willing to pay up for Barzal. Unless something is brewing below the surface.

And if something is brewing you know Barzal is being traded at the very latest 2023 draft. So this is a massive year for him.
