Normally I feel bad for an organization like the Jets. It's not cool what PLD did to them. It's fair that he be entitled to call his shot, but they gave up a lot to get him and it's not cool to give up on your teammates and management team like that. That being said, there are some very few delusional Jets fans, not the majority mind you, but a handful, that make me think it's gonna be so sweet when he walks for nothing.

1. Monahan does not get 6M. He’s been on the decline. It might be due to injury but still.
2. Hoffman is worth a 3rd rounder not a 4th.
3. Edmundson is solid but Brannstrom is better and younger.
4. Dubois came out and said that he didn’t request a trade. Expect Dvorak to head to a team that needs a 2C like Colorado.
5. Beau is worth more than a 2nd. Probably a prospect on top of that.

Next summer, the Jets might look at that. It would all depend on how good of a season Dach has. If he stays the same as the past year, Winnipeg says no, but if Dach has a good year, it may be something Winnipeg looks at depending on the other offers.

I don't understand how Winnipeg it's going to lose Dubois for nothing. The only way that happens is if they are making a playoff run on two years and keep him as an own rental, which would be worth it.

Why wouldn't Winnipeg just trade Dubois at the TDL before he becomes a UFA?

Simply curious, would you be interested/willing to post a few potential trades between WPG and other teams where PLD would go that would return more than this? I just wanna see where you feel the value is based off another teams roster instead of MTL.

A lot depends on when he is traded. It is extremely unlikely he is traded at this point of the off season. The next most logical point would be the upcoming TDL, although even that is only a slight possibility.

The most logical timeframe to trade him is next summer and even then it's hard to come up with names as so much can change in the course of the season.

The trade here, value wise, if it was this year and the Jets really like Dach, might get them talking. Next summer, as I said, it will depend on how Dach looks this year.

Value wise, next summer, I would think Dubois should return a little more than he would as a pure rental. So, a mid/late first, a good prospect and a roster player. All dependant on what the actual pieces are.
