I didn't even think about Burakovsky, but he would be a great add for this team.

Team looks slightly better, varlamov should have been moved and replaced with a cheaper suitable backup. Make room for another offensive add.

Before the draft I was making ACGMs and always included picking him up

Islanders wouldn’t really need to trade Varlamov with 3.5 million in cap space I could see maybe a Milano signing and have him on the third line without moving anyone else

Lou missed the boat on a lot. I think the trade market played a huge factor. Look at all the teams over cap that don't have guys expected to go on LTIR. Kings, Pens, Sharks, Panthers, Leafs. There's a lot of teams trying to move contracts and not a lot of teams willing to take them. I'd have to imagine the price to move a cap dump is ridiculous.

Very true but I think Wilde and a 2nd could get it done with Bailey because he’s still a solid middle 6 forward and is getting paid less than his cap hit

If it could, I feel like it would've happened. I think teams are asking for a 1st+.

I would prefer sandin , but I didn’t mind acquiring Romanov. It’s a step in the right direction

Eh once you see what Sandin will turn into you’ll take that back he’s got a lot higher potential and will be a better two way player imo and has already been better analytically than Romanov

Hes also been playing sheltered depth minutes on a very good team. Sandin is more of a boom or bust guy while romanov is a higher floor lower ceiling player. His playstyle also fits with dobson much better than sandins.
