Why not just waive Johnston instead of having Martin on LTIR? Also I doubt Wilde has any value but if he does I’d just use it to trade Panik for futures.

Tbf I think Johnston is better than Martin, it would never happen but they’re better off just waiving him

Johnston is way worse than Martin imo. Also I think trading Martin would piss off the locker room anyway. IMO he should rotate with Parise/Bellows and Clutterbuck on the 4th line. No way Martin or Clutterbuck can play a full 82 game schedule anyway.

Martin and Johnston essentially the same player but a few years younger, Ill take path of youth but I also don't really care if they demote Johnston and he gets picked up. One way or another I want to remove one of their two contracts off the books

You’re probably right about the locker room. To me though, Johnston is a little more mobile than Martin, while still playing physical and being somewhat defensively responsible. It’s not a big upgrade, but I feel like over 82 games it would be noticeable

Neither should play 82 games anyway. And I think Martin will be better if he plays less frequently. Johnston sucks no matter what.
