MP to Detroit is dead. Zero interest, move your cap issues else where.

Reviving the MP to Detroit BS? Really? Yzerman signed 4 UFA defensemen this summer. Chiarot, Maatta, Pysyk (now injured) and Hagg. Plus Edvinsson is likely going to make the team. And Walman will be back from his injury eventually. LOL

I'm starting to think maybe Pens fans have burner accounts posing as wings fans to like all the MP cap dumps on Detroit. It's gotten to that point.

I'm not certain Edvinsson will make the roster. His WJC performance was less than stellar. Honestly a year in Grand Rapids might be what's best for him. Seider had 2 seasons in lower mens leagues (1 AHL and 1 SHL). Edvinsson has one full year in the SHL and could benefit from a full year in the AHL, same as Seider, adapting to the smaller ice surface, working the kinks out in the AHL before he arrives in the NHL.

Besides, If there's one more year to suck, the 2023 draft is the year to do it.

I wasn't too impressed with Edvinsson in the WJC. Apparently he had food poisoning. I mean he wasn't bad. But if he's not dominating the junior level then should he really be playing in the NHL this season? Give him a season in Grand Rapids and play the snot out of him.

The reason I have him starting in Detroit is because it sure sounds like Yzerman is expecting him to. You read Kevin Allen and he basically acts like he's a lock to start in Detroit. Same as khan. I don't see what the rush is? He's 19 years old.

I fully agree. Defensemen simply take longer to develop and Seider's rookie year seems to have given some people this impression or expectation he'll have a similar type season as Mo. I really don't think he will come close. After his WJC performance, I feel he'd spend the first half of his NHL season just surviving before he starts to find his rhythm. Let him adjust to the smaller ice surface against less tough AHL competition. He'll go through the growing pains down in Grand Rapids where you can get away with errors more often without getting burned. The competition in the NHL won't be so kind to him.

What worried me about watching Edvinsson playing in the WJC was his decision making in his own end. Reminded me of Kindl when he first came up to the NHL. If he's struggling making decisions at the junior level then what's going to happen at the NHL level when he'll have even less time? Yikes.

He's a great skater. Smooth stride. Loads of skill. I'm not questioning his talent. It's clearly there. I just don't think he's NHL ready yet. But I'm not going to pretend I know more than Yzerman does. I just don't see the rush to fast track Edvinsson to the NHL.
